About the Reliable Public Power Provider (RP3) Program
The American Public Power Association's RP3 program rewards public power systems that demonstrate basic proficiency in four important disciplines: reliability, safety, training and system improvement.
Utilities who successfully meet the guidelines in each of the four areas will receive tremendous value and recognition for their achievement.
84 of the nation's more than 2,000 public power utilities have earned RP3 recognition for providing consumers with the highest degree of reliable and safe electric service. Terry Huval, Director of Utilities at the Lafayette, La. Utilities System and Chair of the APPA Board of Directors, presented the designees on April 21, 2008 during the association's annual Engineering & Operations Technical Conference in Indianapolis.
